PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) & PEP (post exposure prophylaxis) are available at Planned Parenthood 1463 S 4th St, El Centro, CA 92243 & Clinica de Salud del Pueblo.

PrEP is when people at very high risk for HIV take HIV medicines daily to lower their chances of getting infected. PrEP can stop HIV from taking hold and spreading throughout your body. It is highly effective for preventing HIV if used as prescribed, but it is much less effective when not taken consistently.

PEP is a combination of HIV drugs which can be used to reduce the likelihood of a HIV negative person getting HIV after they have been exposed to the virus.
